gingerbread baked donuts
I've been wanting to dust off my donut pan for a while now and when I came across this recipe I knew it was a match made in heaven!
This is hands down one of the easiest desserts I have ever made and the flavor is perfectly understated and light. These are the perfect Christmas snack and are pretty healthy too!
• 1 cup flour
• ¾ tsp baking powder
• ¼ tsp of baking soda
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• ½ tsp ginger
• pinch of allspice
• pinch of cloves
• ¼ tsp salt
• ¼ c brown sugar
• 1 egg
• ¼ c applesauce
• 1 tablespoon milk
• 2 tsp of molasses
• 2 tbsp melted butter
Preheat oven to 350.
Mix all dry ingredients. Stir in moist ingredients. Pour batter into a gallon-sized plastic bag and cut the corner off. Pipe the batter into a greased donut pan, filling each donut space about 3/4 full. Bake for about 7-8 minutes. Remove from oven, allow to cool and take each donut out of the pan and place on a cooling rack.
Dust with some powdered sugar and enjoy!
