nc cousin time photo bomb
This past weekend we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to reunite with my cousins!! We see Barby from time to time since she lives in Tennessee but we haven't seen Dasha and her husband since we left California (travesty!!)! Since they were back on the east coast this summer we jumped on the opportunity to spend some time together.
We met each other halfway in NC and hiked, talked for hours, reminisced and even squeezed in a trip to an antique store!
This weekend was good for our souls. There's something incredibly special about being around people you've known for a long time and people who feel like you've known them forever. We are also all in a similar place in life - chasing after our dreams and setting big goals. It's so helpful to be able to share your fears, to get advice and support from people that truly want the best for you and believe in you. I feel like papa bear and I grew by leaps and bounds this weekend and drove home more motivated than ever and excited about our future.
I feel like as you become an adult and then especially when you become a parent, it's hard to keep friendships as alive and strong as they used to be when you were younger. People move away, have jobs that keep them busy and responsibilities that take up most of their time. And so I believe it's even more important to put in the time and effort to connect with friends and family. It's so important to nourish that part of ourselves.
We already miss everyone like crazy but plans are underway for our next meet up!
