Apple picking

We decided to go apple picking this week as most orchards are winding down their apple picking season and there was no way I was going to miss out! It ended up being the perfect afternoon with the temperatures just cold enough for a warm sweater and boots. We picked a whole bag full of apples that I promised to turn into about a dozen glorious sounding desserts but must shamefully admit have yet to realize... Perhaps I'll make that apple pie today? Along with the apples we brought home two lovely pumpkins and some hot apple cider. 

I suppose now it may be time for me to get to work.
